Task 7 - Presentation

I took inspiration for my story from these images. The first 3 are from real life, but the last 2 are inspirations from video games.

This bed inspired my idea to make my story inside of a dream, because when I sleep my dreams often make no sense, and aren't connected.

This sword inspired the part of my story that takes place inside an arena, because I have dreams of fighting in an arena.

This cloudy sky is the inspiration for the single, dark colour of the sky in my dream.

This monster is the inspiration for the final boss creature at the end of my story. It is from the game Dark Souls, and it is the first boss that I ever died to.

This arena is the inspiration for the look of the arena in my story. It is from the game Oblivion, and is the first arena I have fought in inside a video game.



Above is my presentation. In it I talk about an extract from my story, my inspirations for it, and how it relates to 24 hours in my life. After doing this, I received feedback and answered people's questions about my story.

Not Quite A Dream

Synopsis
A good night's sleep turns into a horrific nightmare, as Cameron has been locked inside his dream, unable to awake. The large titanium door, atop a shining marble staircase, remains his only way of escaping, but he must search his dream and pull the levers that release the unbreakable locks on his exit, and return to the real world. Although it is just a dream, if he perishes, there is a good chance he may never awake from it. Each challenge is drastically different, but equally dangerous, but Cameron overcomes them with great effort.

This is my bed. It is relevant for the beginning and ending of my story, because this is where I am when I enter and exit the dream.

This is a sword replica. It is relevant to part 2, the middle, of my story, because it is the part where I must choose a weapon to fight in an arena.

This is a cloudy sky. It is relevant to most of my story, as the sky in my dream is dark and clouded.

This is an enemy in the game Dark Souls. It is relevant to the very end of my story, as a similar looking creature is present as the final 'boss' of the story.

This is an arena from the game Oblivion. It is relevant to the second section of my story, where I fight in an arena against a group of boars.
